Companies and coaches

Corporate social responsibility (CRS) is more than a catchphrase to you as a company? Your employees enjoy getting in touch with the younger generation and can explain complex issues in a simple and comprehensible way? If so, then our educational initiative is just the thing for you!

business@school builds a bridge between schools and businesses and combines the best of both worlds. As a company, you will support your assigned school(s) in one or more locations in Germany or abroad for an extended period. Your employees will volunteer their time at the school for one school year. Many of our coaches have been on board for over 15 years and, like their many fellow coaches, are still excited by the initiative. Your role is not that of a teacher, but an expert and a coach.

What is my job?

You enjoy working with young people and want to share your knowledge and professional experience. You will support the students with your expertise and help them to, e.g., analyze a business report and prepare a profit-and-loss statement or marketing plan. You will act as a sparring partner, question the analyses, market assessments, and costs, as well as the team's assumptions, and enrich them with your own experience. Without specifying too much, you will guide the student team through the business jungle by asking the right questions, and thereby broaden their perspectives. You will give both teachers and students a valuable look beyond their own horizons. You will meet with "your" students once or twice in each of the three phases and will keep in touch with them in between through various channels.

What's in it for me?

You can volunteer in a field that you know a lot about: business. You can give back to society and at the same time gain a lot personally. Because at business@school, the focus is on learning from each other. And that is a lot of fun.

As a company, you also have the option of offering a special prize.

Each year, around 1,500 senior high school students at 90 schools in Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, and the United States participate in business@school. They are supported by their teachers as well as some 500 volunteers from the more than 20 partner companies and BCG.
