The team from the Anglo-Chinese School (independent) wins the business@school 2013 Asian Finals
The "Synergy" team from the Anglo-Chinese School (independent) won this year's business@school finals with its "Ad$miles" idea and was able to beat three other teams with its well-thought-out business plan.
The winning team
Michael Leong (15), Jasprit Singh Aujla (15), Henrico Yuwono Yuwono (16), Shreyas P Bhargav (15), and Ming Gin Sim (15) convinced the judges with their idea to use private vehicles as a medium for advertisements and thus reduce the cost of owning a vehicle while at the same time offering companies inexpensive advertising space.
"The judges—Michiel Hovers, Vice President, Marketing Iron Ore, BHP Billiton Marketing Asia Pte Ltd; Janice Wu, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Singapore Press Holdings Ltd., and Peter Cho, The Boston Consulting Group Singapore—were all very impressed by the presentations of the school teams."
Alongside the Anglo-Chinese School (independent) in the final round were teams from three other schools: the Xinmin Secondary School with the idea of retractable whiteboard markers with multicolored, interchangeable ends on both sides, the Raffles Institution with monitoring software for parents that can check on the usage of different mobile devices, and the Singapore Chinese Girls' School with the idea of a biodegradable synthetic plate cover to eliminate the need for washing up after eating.
